Have u heard of this? i have, and i hate it

I BET my fucking month's pay that u get this too in ur hotmail (if u're malaysian).

first of all, to the person delivering the seminar,

--CHAN KIM KUI! DO U KNOW THAT U ARE A PAIN IN THE ARSE?! NO ONE DOES PUBLICITY FOR THEIR SEMINARS AS HARD AS U, THAT SPAMMING IS CONSIDERED AN EFFORT OF PUBLICITY IS QUITE A TEST OF PATIENCE! THOSE THAT HAVE DECIDED TO ATTEND WIL NOW BE ASKING QUESTIONS OF UR INTEGRITY AS A SPEAKER AND MORALITY! I BET U MAKE UR WEALTH A MONEY THRU THE BLOODY ENTRANCE FEES U CHARGE. AND I ALMOST COULD IMAGINE U TELLING PEOPLE TO EARN MONEY BY JUST DOING AS U DID -- MAKE MONEY THU GET RICH SEMINARS!

okay, the previous are rants because i hate spams.
now the rational argument begins.

case: since a year ago i've received this email flyer, read it, okay, and i deleted it, i'mnot gonna go for it. sice then many similar flyers have been clogging up my email.

my case of argment:
1. if you're a speaker of a seminar, or course, u have to have reputation.
2. extreme publicity i.e. via spamming, and to send those flyers yourself is -a. putting doubts in people's mind, b. anoying.
3. If your seminar is realy good, even if the first one is not a commercial success, the second one will. u don'thave to have huge or hardsell publicity to catch peoples interest (or induce annoyance).
4. by the above point if follows that most people wil come to a conclusion tht this seminar is just another money-spinning move that capitalises on metalities of consumers that want to get rich.
5/ 'the secrets of getting rich' is such as salable asset, and has become an obvious way of making money with this topic, it is a known and open secret that only the flaws and desire of human that keeps this way of making money alive.

an end point: i fucking wish someone would trash his seminar.

PM inspired by huge turnout of 180,000 at Raya open house

frankly, if i were to be a non-supporter, i would still go and have a free raya meal. if really met abduallh, like most people, i would still say 'support u PM!' hey, that's the least u could do to show some appreciation for free food. at least make him feel good for the day.

interesting stuff if you're know swansea

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/south_west/6049586.stm

apparently, outdated Sat Nav systems have caused fans and also opponent teams to arrive at the WRONG stadium for matches against swasnea city football club!

wonderful, among all the teams, Bradford did that mistake, arrived almost too late for the match had it not for luck.

lets hope when its crunch time match (say...semifinals or finals) swansea FC should really hit a deal with the satnav companies to take advantage of it. if it won't work for the long term, at least it'll work for the short term.

hehehehe, just joking.

Moaner Footballers!

Top of the rank, CHIMBODA of Wigan. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=374955&cc=5739

sort ur thinking mate!
Wigan did well last season, almost challenged for a Champions League spot for a third of a season! finish 6th on their first season in the Premier League!

Damn! Need to go to a bigger club? the better way would be to stay put and make Wigan BIG! then you will seal your legacy!

Second on the rank, All the big players

really what i find disgusting about football is that whenever a players get big, they often ask for 2 things, 1. pay raise, 2. move to big clubs

examples are Patrick Viera, joey Barton, Michael Carrick and so many more through the years.

the typical argument is "i need to be playing in the Champions League, i want to be in a team that can win prizes..."

Check this out, fuck off from football! Of coz u can go to any team, but leave a team that made your name? u can forgive the player if the team's really shit, but when a proper top flight club player says that it makes u wonder...

Cure to malaysian education (part of)

Malaysian education never got worst, it just never did improve.
It is constantly in a sorry state of mess.

The education lacks quality.

The immediate cure are listed with decreasing priority
1. BAN and reinforce the practice of EXTRA-CURICULAR TUITION on all levels
2. Increase the rate of increase of teacher's salary, whereby the aim of salary level should be at least equal or higher than the average of profesinals of malaysia (the average must not include those of teachers)
3. Introduce full day schooling
3. STOP the decreasing scope of school subjects such as maths and science to ensure constant rate of learning.
4. Department of education, although with a minister appointed by the governing party, must strive to be independant.
5. funding of education department must be the most/joint most of any government annual budget
6. The trend of building new universities must be stopped, and resources put into existing universities to improve and expand involvement in the areas of research.

Malaysian Nude Squat, questions...

A certain malay lady decided to sue the police force for secretly recording her doing nude squats and subsequently causes a furor. She is sueing for RM10million for damage as ppl know who she is and she can't cope with the trauma/stress/watever.

the furor was causing strains on malaysia's foreign relations, particulary with China (the new host which future malaysian parasitic economy growth depends on). Malaysia is suffering on both fronts as local chinese comunity too are more than displeased too.

My Questions are as follows:

1. the subsequent furor following the nude squats uncovering was enormous, as it seems to be a nude CHinese doing it. the point is that NO ONE knew during the event on who the person is, so how come a malay female can be a target/attention in the first place to cause her distress?

2. Was the malay females identity ever released publicly? i don't think so

My Theory on this case:
1. A Chinese was doing the nude squats. for political and diplomatical reasons a malay female (possibly one of many nude squat victims) was named as a "scapegoat".

2. since it is malay, the damage was controlled and disaster averted.

3. the sueing was staged/backed by the government after the event cooled off to add to the realism, this is because there are still doubters of the actual nationality and race of the victim.

the truth is somewhere in putrajaya office...

Fans lose trousers to gain entry
By Harry Peart
BBC sports correspondent, Berlin

Dutch fans watch Ivory Coast match
Hundreds in the crowd were in their underpants
Football's governing body has explained why up to 1,000 Dutch fans watched a World Cup tie wearing no trousers.

Around 1,000 fans arrived for the Ivory Coast tie in their traditional bright orange trousers - but bearing the logo and name of a Dutch brewery.

To protect the rights of the official beer they were denied entry, so the male fans promptly removed the trousers and watched the game in underpants.

Fifa said an attempt at an "ambush" publicity campaign was not allowed.

Fifteen major companies have paid up to $50m (£27m) each for the right to be official partners at this World Cup.

The American firm Anheuser Busch, which makes Budweiser, won the exclusive right to promote and sell its beverage in the stadiums and other venues.

There has been a wider resentment in Germany that a US brewery has the exclusive rights in a country which prides itself on the quality of its beer and has very strict laws governing its composition.

Roger that

whenever pilots say "roger, that" it means either yes, or the message had been received.

soa where does it come from?

here's what i found,

"The word is also used in radio communications to indicate receipt of a message. From around 1938 it was the military phonetic for the letter "R" abbreviation for "Received," later replaced by "Romeo."

In the old days of radio when Morse code was still used, radiomen used the letter "R", dot dash dot (di-dah-dit) as a quick way to transmit acknowledgement of transmissions or as a "yes." When voice radiotelephony was developed, the old radiomen stuck to the "R" as meaning yes. Since the phonetic alphabet for "R" then was Roger, the carryover was a natural logical development.

It is still used today in military parlance to acknowledge the receipt of a command or orders, i.e. "Roger, returning to base" or "Roger, Wilco or "Roger, that"." With the widespread use of cell phones and SMS (Short Message Service) or "text" messaging, Roger is slowly being replaced by "K" for OK outside of military use."

if i ever get into "who wants to be a millionaire" i wish that would be the question that won be £1M.

Environmental problems

This is not a blog on what problems we have. its a statement on the most obvious way to settle the environmental issues.

"REDUCE HUMAN POPULATION by 70%" and the problem wil be solved.

imagine humans as a pet. living in a ecosystem cage, with food and plants, and prey to sustain it.
what would happen if the number of pet explodes?

what is the most obvious choice to do should u wish to make the ecosytem sustainable?

i'll end here.

Bear attack an EAT monkey in zoo

here's an extract:

Witness Marco Berelds posted a detailed report on the incident, including photos, on a Dutch Web site. He said one Sloth bear tried unsuccessfully to shake the monkey loose after it took refuge on the structure, built of crossing horizontal and vertical poles.

Ignoring attempts by keepers to distract it, the bear climbed onto a horizontal pole, and, standing stretched on two legs, "used its sharp canines to pull the macaque, which was shrieking and resisting, from its perch."

The bear then brought the animal to a concrete den, where three bears ate it.

Memory: Gower

I love Swansea, a lovely city by the sea, in the friendly country of Wales.

This year it is the 50th anniversary since the Gower penisular is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, to be preserved and admired.

I've been there many times, in all conditions and seasons since i first arrived here in sept 2003. Every visit reminds me that i'm living in a calendar picture, the ones that when i was a kid i thought i will never see.

I'd like to share many pictures with any reader that visits, the beauty of Gower.

1. BBC's picture of gower

2. My pictures thru the years.
u can see all these thru-out this posting. Enjoy!

This picture on the left and above was taken during my first visit, it is still the best visit so far. perfect in every way. The left picture is a cliff taken from another cliff, the friend that took that photo took a really long walk to take it.

notice how small the people compared to the cliffs.

The following picture was taken during the Easter period of 2004. I think this picture represents my appearance and my inner-state-of-mind during that period. Its Art. that year i had a pony tail, almost always with a black UWS hoodie, favourite shoe that my parents bought me, and my companion slingback full, complete with my hands in pockets. This picture was taken without me knowing, thanks to ZM for such a good picture.

The stories moves on and i still visit it a few times more after, the most memorable visit after these would be the time my lovely girlfriend visit me on december 2005. We braced the wintry weather, pet the sheep and despite the cold we enjoyed our time, love is truely wonderful.

Another realisation

this came at random into my thoughts...

"As a member, a double-crosser is a traitor; As a leader, a double-crosser is an resourceful artist"

If i'm to publish a book, this will be a chapter under the title Dark Art.

My thought today

Today...could be another normal day, however it did not.

By not being specific, a person's gesture made me think i have found another good friend, and that made my day. I've overcame my mentality barrier, to put it simply, and i like that feeling.

its another normal day after all, so i'll keep my calm and mojo, be cool, i'm a dude.

Why Eriksson is a liability

England Football Team Manager Sven Goran Eriksson had chosen Theo Wallcott as part of the squat to the world cup 2006 in germany,

he said: 'Maybe it is my biggest, bravest, boldest gamble. It is a bit of a gamble." (click here for full video of the press conference-13minutes)

Bastard.

Fact 1 - he never saw Walcott played (NEVER), he only saw him on video.

Fact 2- Walcott is still in the Arsenal Reserves, he never played in the premiership since his £12m transfer.

Fact 3- The ommission of Jermaine Defoe, who had proven qualities as a good striker, fast enough, skillful enough and had been in the England Squad for the past year.

Fact 4- This is a gamble that any good manager would have make (after all Walcott HAS the MOST potential).

I don't like the gamble bit, when u gamble if u show the ruthlessness, rational and mentality then u inspire confidence. However, when u make a gamble and seems unsure and soft then this will transpire down the team hierachy, down to the fans.

So, The contradicting point of Eriksson's comments are as such:

I- my biggest, bravest, boldest gamble <--this is a good gambling rally

II-It is a bit of a gamble.... <--he just said it is a BIG gamble, now its a BIT?????

Its like a chess player going into a game and say:" i think today i might win, or lose."

Cheeky bastard.

U.F.O disproved by M.o.D (UK)

The ministry of defence of UK has released a 400 page report on UFOs, after it is being requested through the Freedom of Information Act by an academic.

Read the full news here (BBC).

Here is a summary for lazy people:
1. The report, which was completed in 2000 and stamped "Secret: UK Eyes Only", has been made public for the first time.

2.
the identity of the man who wrote it has been protected.

3.
"No evidence exists to suggest that the phenomena seen are hostile or under any type of control, other than that of natural physical forces."

4.
"Evidence suggests that meteors and their well-known effects and, possibly some other less-known effects are responsible for some unidentified aerial phenomena,"

5.
People who claim to have had a "close encounter" are often difficult to persuade that they did not really see what they thought they saw. The report offers a possible medical explanation.

6.
"The close proximity of plasma related fields can adversely affect a vehicle or person," states the report. "Local fields of this type have been medically proven to cause responses in the temporal lobes of the human brain. These result in the observer sustaining (and later describing and retaining) his or her own vivid, but mainly incorrect, description of what is experienced."

7.
other causes of UFOs - aeroplanes with particularly bright lights, stray odd-shaped balloons and strange flocks of birds, to name but a few.

of course, there will always be an argument that this is an elaborate government cover-up, so on and so forth...

The scenic birdge

This is the causeway bridge linking Johor to Singapore. It is not a bridge, it is a landfill, which cuts through the sea to join the two countries.

Many years back it had been decided that we build the new bridge

for some reason, shit happens and malaysia decided to build our own new half. there fore it looks like this

it was name THE CROOKED BRIDGE....we now prefer to call it the scenic bridge...

As a engineering student i can't help but calculate some "impacts"..mainly on fuel consumption. as we can see the original bridge is 1km...judging from the artist's impression the new scenic bridge gives a total length of 1.5km.

assuming that we have a car that does 40miles per gallon 17 km per litres. so to cross to the opposite costs 0.06 litres. current petrol price of RM1.90 per litre means it costs u RM0.11 per crossing.

let's see how much more it would cost for the new bridge...0.09 litres to cross....means RM0.17 per crossing.

The average traffic per day is 60,000 vehicles a day (sourced from wikipedia) this counts to...21.9 million vehicles a year.

fuel costs of old bridge: RM2,409,000 per year ; new bridge RM3,723,000

it COST RM1,314,000 MORE everyyear...plus the building of the bridge costs RM1 billion (1,000,000,000)

Malaysia government subsidises fuel (read more here and here and here), which surpressed the price, and spends USD$1.4billion a year to do so. it is estimate that if the subsidy is to be lifted fuel prices may at least RM2.45 per litre...so let's assume the government takes RM0.55 per litre, we can calculate the cost to subsidies addition crossing-fuel to be RM3,613,500.

Therefore the extra fuel cost to cross the scenic bridge is RM4,927,500 per year. yes....nearly five million ringgit is wasted per year...this is the lower limit as most cars are less efficient than 40mpg, and the actual traffic is more than 60000 a day and it is increasing.

although 5 million ringgit is really as small portion of our government's budget every year, (USD$29.33 billion..RM105 billion, accroding to CIA world factbook). we will never know the implications if the 5million is used elsewhere...

SO, ARE WE LUCKY THAT MALAYSIA HAD FINALLY SCRAPPED THE PLAN TO BUILD THE SCENIC BRIDGE??? read on...

_____________________________________________________________

the dispute of the bridge in short:

" Malaysia says the new bridge will allow water to flow again in the Straits of Johor, thereby improving the marine ecology and reducing the stagnation and the stench. Malaysia also hopes the new bridge will reduce traffic congestion in Johor Bahru, which is across the causeway from Singapore. Singapore’s objection is over the cost of building a new bridge as opposed to adding lanes to the existing causeway. At least that’s all the info that I could find. "

there is a conspiracy theory going around, which can be found HERE. the text that comes after this paragraph are from the same website:

to summarise the conspiracy...

1. Malaysia wants to replace the 80 year old causeway with a new bridge. Reasons given are –
To improve the marine ecology by allowing the water in the Straits of Johor to flow
To reduce traffic congestion in Johor Bahru2.

2. Singapore is reluctant to replace the causeway with a bridge. Reasons given are –
Cost is higher than simply upgrading the causeway ... Unspecified environmental concerns

3. Negotiations between the two countries are underway, but it is not moving anywhere

4. Malaysia has decide to proceed with it’s half of the bridge unilaterally

So what is all the fuss? Why is Singapore reluctant to cooperate with Malaysia in building a new bridge? Why are they stalling?

The causeway has basically dammed up the Straits for a little over 80 years now. As a result, shipping traffic has to go around Singapore to get from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. Singapore gets a lot of revenue from shipping traffic.

Removing this dam/causeway will cause traffic to divert through the Straits of Johor, reducing traffic to Singapore and possibly increasing traffic to her rival port across the Strait. Both situations are not favourable to Singapore.

What will the end result be then? that is why Singapore will not willingly cooperate

UK malaysian students doesn't go home to serve the country

"Money is not everything – Malaysian medical students in Britain have been told.
Higher Education Minister Datuk Mustapa Mohamed said the students must have a strong sense of nationalism and patriotism, and should return home to serve the people and the Government after completing their studies. " - the star (click here for full coverage)

THis is a response to the UK Executive Council for Malaysian Students (UKEC), which found that low pay and long working hours in government service were among the reasons Malaysian medical students were reluctant to return home after completing their studies in Britain. (the survey includes also science and engineering student)

REgarding this issue i have a very strong opinion, as i am an also an engineering student in UK.

The response given by Dato Mustapha is an ill-given one, he had failed to consider these few arguments:
1. The realiaty waiting for graduate students:
2. the mentally of the students.
3. application of what is being studied.

regarding 1.
the reality is that majority of students finance their studies thru loans (either government or private sector or family). this loans are huge as an average science degree will set u back aat arond RM200,000 over the course of 3 years. How long would u need to pay that back (not calculating the interests) if u comeback to malaysia? a quick count will tell u that it'll take more than 10 years to pay it all, age-wise u're either at your mid-30's now, or you are now over 40. add into the payment of your future homea nd cars and expenses, u'll be living most of your life IN DEBT.

The best way out of such a situation is working overseas, where the pay is higher, E.G. in UK u earn £24,000 per annum as a fresh graduate, that is at least 5 times as much as u can earn back home, which means u can settle your debts and loans faster (meaning u can reduce the interest being paid).

THat's the reality, my dear Datuk Mustapha.

2. the mentality
why do we not have much patriotism within us? first consider this

i.
what is the percentage of non-government sponsored students in UK? it is a significant portion, in my uni it is 80% of the M'sian students.

ii. of these portion of non-sponsored students, there are more than half that have got VERY GOOD RESULTS in pre-uni qualifications, they are either nto given scholarships they need(and deserve), or they are denied the place they want in local uni (such as medical students), when a lot more are given to bumiputeras with much lower qualifications. This is the reason why many top students are studying overseas, in order to fulfill their potential and dreams which they have proven in past examinations that they can.

these reasons prompt a very negative reaction, students feel they are either abandoned, treated unfairly or just not being important enough to the country. so it is only fair that the fire of patriotism is being dampened by the process.

to put it simply, "overseas student will not have a strong enough patriotism to take huge personal sacrifices because they don't feel they are appreciated enough in the first place"

3. the application
i can only speak this from my own experience. in my uni the emphasis is on design and computer modelling, while in msia it is not so, it is more geared towards manufacturing. personally i would like to try applying what i've learned rather than having to do something else.

Bet of a life time

imagine...u made a statement to your girdfriend (or anoyone important)

then she says u're stupid and it is not as u said, u argue

so heres what happen to this guy...CLICK here

and here's the result...please note the counter at the bottommost of the page.

so the morale of the argument?
1. nothing is impossible, your only limits is in your mind
2. respect a person's statement by commenting and discussing it, instead of dismissing it as stupid, always take the FACE-SAVING approach
3. if u take a bet make sure the whole world knows about it, there will always be like-minded people that are more than willing to help.

Do we really need proof for common sense?

This is STUPID!

why do we need to have such an experiment?
conclusion: when u watch-and-learn, u really learn something.

of coz u do...that's what u call learn through imitation..baby does that, kids does that and even adults do it, its universal and i dare say its encoded in the genes that this is the BASIC learning ability long recognised.

if science is able to conduct such a study to proof the already proven and obvious i don't think i will ever have any problems with a career as a researcher!

the whole truth

In the beginning God created the heaven and earth

the first day...LET THERE BE LIGHT!

the second day...WATER and SKY....

third day he created dry land that contained vegetation!

fourth day...starry starry night~~~

fifth day....mosquitos and co came into existence

7th day...
GOD: "come jesus my boy~~wat shall we create today"
jesus: "daddy i want some friends"
G: sure my boy...

and god created adam of his own image~~

j: dady this is boring...make him run...make more of them...make them all run for no reason, it'll be funny

G: ok wait...ADAM!! wait here in the garden, BE GOOD AND DUN EAT THE APPLE while i make some company for you.

j: why don't eat the apple?
g: coz mum will be mad...she spend a millenia making it...

god is searching for something...

G: now where's my man-making manual?

j: the red one?
g: yeah

j: i kinda lend it to vishnu....he creates indians down at his department

and so vishnu became the god of creation......at his department......

however citing cultural and discrepancies of operation between departments vishnu created the cow in the image of his cousin Mo...Mo wasn't the black sheep of the family...he was the huge fucking cow of the family...

G: vishnu what is that?????
V: i don't know...(pointing to cow)..but it looks like Mo, my cousin working somewhere down town of heaven city.

due to the confusion aroused god and vishnu decided to name the creature cow and place him in vishnu's departmental garage (modern day india)

G:wheres my book?
V: lost it when i created cow, Mo say's such a replica of him is a intrusion of piracy and moral stance, when i showed him the red book it remembered him of his red-color-blind he went on a rampage...

G: wat?!?!???? my little boy jesus wans more man
V: try ur wife's kitchen, i remember her still having the ingredients....and here's a half page of the instruction i found of what's left of the book, hope it helps.

V: of yea buddy, take this (handing over a bottle), its some ofthe man i made, but i think its a little darker i left it in the oven too long cuz of Mo.

G: at least that'll keep jesus quiet for a while...

AND so the world is populated first by indians and africans which led to modern scientist to believe that the human evolved from monkeys in africa...

scouraging the net

hello again!!

finally finished with my dissertation!!! handed it in and i am secretly praying that it will be the last i see of it..of course that will never happen as i still need to attend the bloody viva, which of course i don't mind as i'm quietly confident of it (its just 20% no use fretting over such insignificant proportion). so i'm now left with group project, which is supposed to be even tougher, as i'ts 30 credits, meaning its 3 times the weight (hence importance) of the one just handed in, however due to my genuine interest for the group project it will be easy as concentration will not be hard to come by.

so during this on-coming period of not-so-stressness, it is likely that i will desert this blog :p as i've done in the past. (spritual and mental guidance and enlightenment is only needed when one is in need of them, eg if u're stressed and down u look for somewhere to quote-u-happy, if you're frustrated u vent it on the blog, if you're just taking a break from work u find stupid stuff and put in on the blog so other's will see and laugh)

anyway, here's one very nice record book that i find both disgusting and enlighting, human never ceases to amaze himself as it only has humans to appreciate him, as other species are un-aware and therefore un-appreciative of our species' dominance (dogs will only care if u bring him to walk and bite the postman, he won't even care if the invention of toilet bowl is significant or not).

Finally a this happened, YES! my subconcious had been wishing and praying for that to happen for quite some time as my mood was lifted immediately upon reading this.

Imagine what goes in the announcement:
"...ladies and gentlemen please note that all electronic equipment, players and mobile phones are to be switched off during the whole duration of the flight..bla bla....."

and then..

"..good morning passengers this is the captain speaking and would like to apologise for the flight delay...because i lost my mobile phone in the plane...i forgot to switch it off..."

Mammography

Came on this picture while working

this image shows a mammography process. one day most most of u gals out day will have to do it. it is designed to scan ur boobies, and expert view this scan to check for breast cancer.

most people call this CAT scan, basically its a x-ray scan with greater range to give a 3D image and 'slices' at different 'depth'.

the latest technology in computer intelligence (what my dissertation is on, although its not mainly on breast cancer) can automatically detect where the lesions and clusters are and point them out so experts can have a easier time making decision (saves 80% of missed cases, missed casses stands at around 20% of diagnosis). these A.I. can detect very early forms of cancers and some even determines whehter it is harmless or otherwise, although the decision is for the radiologist/doctor to make. this alones save even more lifes on this over populated world.

the reason i write about this thing is not to raise awareness or any of those c**p.

the main question is this:notice the picture at how the breast is scan? placed on a tray and pressed and scanned...i was wondering whether girls with smalle A-cup boobies...how can they put 'it' on that thing????

Try watching Lost and u will want to know what the heck is it all about, all the strange things makes u theorise quite a lot for an explanation.

someone offer a great explanation, click here for a brief one, and here for a expanded one.

pro and cons of a Pilot

Every boy wants to be a pilot.

One of the reasons i studied engineering is because I like planes, and i don't have any problems staying 24/7 inside an airport, i really like it. i've stayed in 4 airports overnight and i always like the experience, it'll be even greater if i can fly one of those bad boys.

so can i be physically be a pilot?
I checked out this site thru google (another of my many adventures while trying to do my project)

i'm near-sighted, currently my prescription stands at
Right -3.00 Left -4.25
this forum says its ok as long as it can be corrected (spectacles)

i need to be at least 5ft 4in tall, i'm...let me see...2cm short of 6ft, phew.

i'm an engineering student, so that means i am in the forefront of competition if i apply to be one.

British Airways have a program that i can train and if possible serve with BA in the future, with a contract of 5 years to repay it.

there are other options, like msia airlines that gives the same thing, with 15 years.

should i go for it? i'm stuck, i like to fly one of the planes...really do.

and the all important question...the WAGES~ and the PERKS~

WAGES~~$183,000 per annum (luftansa), or roughly £83,000 as a captain, which is achievable after 2~5 years after graduating from flight school. but normally other smaller airlines seems to offer about $60,000 per annum, still not bad...

PERKS~walk like a VIP anywhere in the airport wearing great uniform that people just admires...and become a guy's guy, guys like pilots! and girls too~especially the hostess :p. i also get to see alot of countries FREE! yahoo!

NOT SO GOOD SIDE~~flying everyday~fly fly fly~~which means a pilot's personal life wil most probably be thrown in tantrums...my poor family and girlfren will miss me alot...unless they fly with me too...sadly pilots have a high rate of divorce...also greenpeace people will give pilots a hard time (if they ever ran into one)...flying a plane...costs (provide may be the better word) the earth the amount of carbon dioxide of a normal urban car for 2 years, warming the globe at a faster pace~

should i shouldn't i...

Flower~~~Sss~~

browsing some blogs i see pictures of flowers and seas and girls and boys....and some no-meaning caption.

in order to understand the reasoning and rationale and...watever that motivates these actions, let's post some too.

let's see, flowers....this was taken 1 year ago (i'm lazy to go out to take new ones, its cold) and...
and yeah, the famous swansea bay where somewhere to the right (not in picture) is a main pipes where the industry dumps water back to mother nature, so we wont swim there.

and finally some people....its actually adam and god painted by michaagelo on the ceilign of sistine chapel (quite a small dick, agree?)

The benefits of frustration (prelude)

boring boring boring

first of all, what the FUCK is a mechanical engineering course have to do with computational programming in MEDICAL FIELD?? "computer aided medical diagnosis" as a dissertation???

its bloody hard to try to do all the work of a computer science bachelor degree in a month! WAKE UP SWANSEA UNI, u BLOODY blood sucking bloody uni!!!

now is that how i should behave?

its just frustration, i guess this course really gv me more than my fair share of a miserable future career as a mechanical engineer.

now i realise how hard it is to motivate oneself to do something that really really isn't of any interest watsoever. may this stupid dissertation be finished quickly and as painless (already painful) as possible and let the bliss of nothing-to-do-ness of post-hand-up-work times begins...

on beliefs and purpose

I ran into Alvins blog. and found something worth thinking.

"Wednesday, October 19, 2005

If you are not seeking the Lord, the Devil is seeking you...

"
great words.

however i have a totally different appreciation for it, not in the theological/religious sense, rather in a philosophical realization.

u c, i strongly believe that people need to believe in some kind of higher power, or purpose in it's life. the most common form is religion, where people believe there's god/gods up there somewhere, and that gives them their purpose of life. the other form may well be in science or some other cult, or being involved in patriotism, or just money-worship. losing all sense of purpose generally lead u to one or all of the two conclusions: madness (due to constant searching of beliefs and purpose), and suicide (in some cases however that stems in the belief of an afterlife, because u can 'start over').

Being brought up as a chinese-buddhist-with-strong-cultural-heritage-and-taoism-confuism-influence person, plus being a malaysian (hence the brushes with islam, hinduism, chirtianity) and also being in a modern world (free-thinker-ism and Darwinsim) and a man-of-science (thanks to my engineering experiences and national geography readings), its hard to immerse oneself into any form of believe. (pretty sad huh?)

u might think: well i maybe can grab a hold on science as a belief. NO i don't. remember the previous post, even science may only be a relative truth, believing totally in science almost certainly will drive u into the 'mad-obsessed-scientist-that-believe-there's-no-bloody-ghost' category.

...to be continued...(need to catch up on work)

It all comes around

Funny how the same thing seems to be happening to european people with chinese tattoo.

I saw a gal with a tattoo saying 'bitch' in chinese.

Try asking ourselves these questions

Is there absolute truth?

Is our knowledge of truth absolute? Or is it only relatively true?

Is there truth?

Are we really alone? Is there a guiding being? May there be a companion? Even an enemy?

does the candle feel sadness, when it burns to its last inch. There are greater fear than disappearing all alone, the greater fear is what's after.
